Jerri L. Mead, Esq. Attorney -  Ms. Mead holds both an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance Opera and a Juris Doctor (Law) degree from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.

Ms. Mead entered the field of Immigration and Naturalization Law while living in the New York City metropolitan area.  While in New York, she worked "Of Counsel" between four different private practice attorneys simultaneously, on a wide variety of immigration cases.  It was during this time, Ms. Mead learned the intricacies of personal immigration.  She credits this "trial by fire" as instilling the deep knowledge of the basics of immigration law that many attorneys who dabble in the field seem to lack.

Ms. Mead then went on to be Assistant in-House Immigration Council for Reliance Consulting Group, an international computer consulting company.  During her tenure at RCG, she learned the business side of immigration, completing over 400 H1-B and other visas and also obtaining visas in other countries such as, Curacao, Italy and Great Britain.

Upon her move to Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ms. Mead expected to need to learn a new area of law.  She had interviewed with many of the major law firms in town and all insisted that there was insufficient need to keep an attorney busy full-time.  However, after some pro-bono work for some local churches, she found that there was in fact a strong need for an experienced immigration attorney in Fort Wayne.  She then opened her own firm, Jerri L. Mead, P.C.  While she was building the firm, Ms. Mead also taught as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech, Indiana University-Purdue University - Fort Wayne (IPFW) and the University of Saint Francis.

Ms. Mead is licensed as an attorney in the states of New York and Indiana.

Marie Easterday, Paralegal - Marie holds a Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from Ivy Tech State College, where she was a student of Jerri  L. Mead.  Marie's responsibilities include case preparation, case management and answering the telephone.  Because of the many demands on Ms. Mead's time, in most instances, Marie will be your primary interface with this office.  Prior to joining us, Marie worked with the Allen County Bar Association and other attorneys in private practice.

Carolina Swoverland, Office Assistant- Carolina holds a Law degree with a specialty in Tax from the Santa Maria University of Caracas in her homeland of Venezuela. Two years before graduation from Law School, she began working as the assistant of a judge in a Superior Court and worked there upon her graduation in 1995. After graduation, she was working on her own, taking cases mostly related to Civil and Labor Law while getting her specialty in Taxes. After the completion of her specialty in late 1996, she opened a firm with an Accountant that offered consultation to several companies in the areas of Taxes and Labor. At the same time, she was part of a legal team in charge of the process of the liquidation of one of the banks belonging to the State due to bankruptcy. This was the last job she had prior moving to United State in 2000. Since then, she has worked as a volunteer for a few companies and foundations in both California and Fort Wayne, mostly helping the Hispanic community. Currently, she still is an active volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and Right Relations, Inc.

Casey, Office Manager - Casey is the official office manager for the firm.  Although many clients refer to him as a "Lassie Dog", Casey is, in fact a 5 year old purebred White Collie.  Although he barks at people in our parking lot, he is the sweetest dog in the world and entertains the children of our clients when they come to the office.
