Jerri L. Mead, Esq. Attorney
- Ms. Mead holds both an undergraduate
degree in Vocal Performance Opera and a Juris
Doctor (Law) degree from the University of
Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.
Ms. Mead entered the field of Immigration and
Naturalization Law while living in the New York
City metropolitan area. While in New York,
she worked "Of Counsel" between four different
private practice attorneys simultaneously, on a
wide variety of immigration cases. It was
during this time, Ms. Mead learned the
intricacies of personal immigration. She
credits this "trial by fire" as instilling the
deep knowledge of the basics of immigration law
that many attorneys who dabble in the field seem
Ms. Mead then went on to be Assistant in-House
Immigration Council for Reliance Consulting
Group, an international computer consulting
company. During her tenure at RCG, she learned
the business side of immigration, completing
over 400 H1-B and other visas and also obtaining
visas in other countries such as, Curacao, Italy
and Great Britain.
Upon her move to Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ms. Mead
expected to need to learn a new area of law.
She had interviewed with many of the major law
firms in town and all insisted that there was
insufficient need to keep an attorney busy
full-time. However, after some pro-bono
work for some local churches, she found that
there was in fact a strong need for an
experienced immigration attorney in Fort Wayne.
She then opened her own firm, Jerri L. Mead,
P.C. While she was building the firm, Ms.
Mead also taught as an adjunct professor at Ivy
Tech, Indiana University-Purdue University -
Fort Wayne (IPFW) and the University of Saint
Ms. Mead is licensed as an attorney in the
states of New York and Indiana.
Marie Easterday, Paralegal - Marie
holds a Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies
from Ivy Tech State College, where she was a
student of Jerri L. Mead. Marie's
responsibilities include case preparation, case
management and answering the telephone.
Because of the many demands on Ms. Mead's time,
in most instances, Marie will be your primary
interface with this office. Prior to
joining us, Marie worked with the Allen County
Bar Association and other attorneys in private
Swoverland, Office Assistant-
Carolina holds a Law degree with a specialty in
Tax from the Santa Maria University of Caracas in her homeland of
Venezuela. Two years before
Law School, she began working as the assistant
of a judge in a Superior Court and worked there
upon her graduation in 1995. After graduation,
she was working on her own, taking cases mostly
related to Civil and Labor Law while getting her
specialty in Taxes. After the completion of her
specialty in late 1996, she opened a firm with
an Accountant that offered consultation to
several companies in the areas of Taxes and
Labor. At the same time, she was part of a legal
team in charge of the process of the liquidation
of one of the banks belonging to the State due
to bankruptcy. This was the last job she had
prior moving to United State in 2000. Since then, she has worked
as a volunteer for a few companies and
foundations in both California and Fort Wayne, mostly helping the Hispanic
community. Currently, she still is an active
volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocate
(CASA) and Right Relations, Inc.
Office Manager - Casey is the
official office manager for the firm.
Although many clients refer to him as a "Lassie
Dog", Casey is, in fact a 5 year old purebred
White Collie. Although he barks at people
in our parking lot, he is the sweetest dog in
the world and entertains the children of our
clients when they come to the office.
